Thessaloniki-Kozani-Ioannina-Patra-Aigio-Megara-Salamina-Piraeus-Volos-Skiathos-Volos-Larissa-Katerini-Thessaloniki
Period: two weeks
This was my first journey of 2023, in March. The outdated street from Kozani to Ioannina via the mountains has superb surroundings, and Ioannina may be very stunning. The primary part of the trip after Ioannina was very steep. I took the ferry from Antirrio to Rio, rode to Patra, then returned alongside the south coast of the Gulf of Corinth, stopping in stunning Aigio. After crossing over the Corinth Canal to the Saronic Gulf, I handed via Megara and took a ferry to Salamina Island. I beloved Salamina; it’s a really missed vacation spot. From the east aspect of the island, I took the ferry to Perama and went to Piraeus. From there, I went up the coast to Volos, then took a ferry to Skiathos. After exploring the island, I returned to Volos and rode as much as Thessaloniki through Larissa and the outdated street from Katerini.
Lake Kerkini-Serres-Drama-Kavala-Thassos-Thessaloniki
Period: 4 to 5 days
Often I journey alone, however I deliberate this journey with a good friend from Austria. We had met at a site visitors gentle in Zagreb, each driving to Cut up, and we stayed in contact.
Lake Kerkini is improbable. Beginning at Herakleia, we rode across the lake some, then continued to Serres and Drama: very inexperienced, nearly no vehicles. Then from Kavala, we took the ferry to Thassos, which we beloved. The island’s a bit of over 100 km round, and it’s inexperienced and mountainous. There have been some difficult rides. From Kavala, we rode again to Thessaloniki through Asprovalta and the Volvi and Koroneia lakes.
Florina-Lake Vegoritida-Arnissa-Edessa-Thessaloniki
Period: three to 4 days
The countryside is improbable in late spring. I rode from Florina through Lake Petron to Lake Vegoritida, then continued alongside the shore of the lake to Arnissa. The cherry bushes in bloom have been a tremendous sight. Then it was off to Edessa, with its improbable waterfall. The street from Edessa to Veroia was stunning and simple. Veroia’s on a cliff; after a downhill trip, I noticed extra flowering bushes – peach bushes this time – on an attractive begin to a flat trip again to Thessaloniki.
Peraia and Angelochori
A day journey from the town
The seashore city of Peraia is about an hour’s trip (20k) from Thessaloniki. From right here, I trip alongside the shore to Angelochori, lower than 10k. It’s a pleasant seashore, common with windsurfers. Generally I proceed south to Nea Michaniona. In the summertime months, a ship goes between the White Tower and Peraia and close by Neoi Epivates; it’s enjoyable to take it one-way for the views it affords.
Katerini
A day journey or overnighter from the town
After you move the Axios Delta Nationwide Park, the outdated street all the way down to Katerini alongside the ocean is improbable. Generally I trip on a seashore path, getting off to stroll the bike via delicate sand when vital. It’s completely silent apart from the various birds. It’s 75-80 km a method – you may go away very early, take the KTEL (bus) a method, or make it a simple in a single day trip.
